General Certifications and Focused Certifications
The
Microsoft Business Certification program is the only worldwide,
performance-based certification program that validates the
skills needed to get the most out of Microsoft Office and
Windows Vista. Whether you want to stand out in the job market,
improve employee performance, or better prepare students to
enter the workforce, the Microsoft Business Certification
program demonstrates proven expertise that businesses rely on.
.
Cisco
offers three levels of general certification representing
increasing levels of expertise: Associate, Professional, and
Expert (CCIE). Different tracks across these levels align with
varying career needs. A variety of focused Cisco Qualified
Specialist certifications are available as well to show
knowledge in specific technologies, solutions or job roles.
General Certifications: Three Levels of Certification
-
Associate: The first step in Cisco networking begins
at the Associate level. Think of this as the apprentice or
foundation level of networking certification.
-
Professional: This is the advanced or journeyman
level of certification.
-
Expert: This is CCIE, the highest level of
achievement for network professionals, certifying an
individual as an expert or master.
-
Network Installation and Support: This path is for
professionals who install and support Cisco technology-based
networks in which LAN and WAN routers and switches reside.
-
Network Engineering and Design: This path is for
professionals who design Cisco technology-based networks in
which LAN and WAN routers and switches reside.
-
Service Provider: This path is aimed at professionals
working with infrastructure or access solutions in a Cisco
end-to-end environment primarily within the telecommunications
arena.
-
Network Security: This path is directed toward
network professionals who design and implement Cisco Secure
networks.
Focused Certifications: Cisco
Qualified Specialist
A variety
of Cisco Qualified Specialist focused certifications are
available to show knowledge in specific technologies, solutions,
or job role. New certifications are added to this list
regularly.
CISCO Certifications :
Cisco Certifications programs
available by Cisco Systems are widely respected IT Certification
programs. Cisco Certifications bring rewards to network
professionals.
Cisco Cortication starts from Associate level then it ends to
Expert Level. People those who want to become Cisco Certified;
they start their Cisco Certification Career with CCNA
Certification.
After completing CCNA, there is professional level then people
go for CCIE, which is considered the most difficult Cisco
certification test in the IT industry.
Read the following to learn more about Cisco Certifications.
CCENT
The Cisco CCENT (Cisco Certified
Entry Networking Technician) certification validates the
skills required for entry-level network support positions, the
starting point for many successful careers in networking.
Candidates should have the knowledge and skill to install,
operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network,
including basic network security. CCENT certification is the
first step toward achieving CCNA, which covers medium size
enterprise branch networks with more complex connections.
CCNA
The CCNA certification (Cisco
Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and
apprentice knowledge of networking. CCNA certified
professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN,
and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or
fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols:
IP, IGRP, Serial, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet,
Access Lists.
CCDA
The CCDA certification (Cisco
Certified Design Associate) indicates a foundation or
apprentice knowledge of network design for the Cisco converged
networks based on SONA (Cisco's Service-Oriented Network
Architecture). CCDA certified professionals can design routed
and switched network infrastructures and services involving
LAN, WAN, and broadband access for businesses and
organizations.
CCNP
CCNP certification validates a
network professional's ability to install, configure and
troubleshoot converged local and wide area networks with 100
to 500 or more nodes. Network Professionals who achieve the
CCNP have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required to
manage the routers and switches that form the network core, as
well as edge applications that integrate voice, wireless, and
security into the network.
CCDP
The CCDP certification indicates
advanced or journeyman knowledge of network design. With a
CCDP, a network professional can design routed and switched
networks involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services,
applying modular design practices and making sure the whole
solution responds optimally to the business and technical
needs and is designed to be highly available.
CCSP
The CCSP certification (Cisco
Certified Security Professional) validates advanced knowledge
and skills required to secure Cisco networks. With a CCSP, a
network professional demonstrates the skills required to
secure and manage network infrastructures to protect
productivity and reduce costs. The CCSP curriculum emphasizes
secure VPN management, Cisco Adaptive Security Device Manager
(ASDM), PIX firewall, Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA),
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Cisco Security Agent
(CSA), and techniques to combine these technologies in a
single, integrated network security solution.
CCIP
The CCIP (Cisco Certified
Internetwork Professional) provides individuals working in
service provider organizations with competencies in
infrastructure IP networking solutions. CCIP professionals
have detailed understanding of networking technologies in the
service provider arena including IP routing, IP QoS, BGP, and
MPLS.
CCVP
The CCVP certification
recognizes the increased importance placed on IT professionals
of today who are responsible for integrating voice technology
into underlying network architectures. Individuals who earn a
CCVP certification can help create a telephony solution that
is transparent, scalable, and manageable. Earning a CCVP
certification validates a robust set of skills in
implementing, operating, configuring, and troubleshooting a
converged IP network. The certification content focuses on
Cisco Systems CallManager, quality of service (QoS), gateways,
gatekeepers, IP phones, voice applications, and utilities on
Cisco routers and Cisco Catalyst switches.
CCIE Routing &
Switching
Certifies expert-level knowledge
of networking across various LAN and WAN interfaces, and a
variety of routers and switches.
CCIE Security
Certifies expertise with
specific security protocols and components, as well as IP and
IP routing.
CCIE Service
Provider
Certifies expert-level knowledge
and skill for building an extensible Service Provider
infrastructure to deliver rich managed services.
CCIE Storage
Networking
Certifies expert-level knowledge
of intelligent storage solutions using multiple transport
options over long distances.
CCIE Voice
Certifies expert-level knowledge
of voice-over-IP solutions in the enterprise |
